APD will:
- promote and facilitate research on past biodiversity, environment and climate in Africa: the origine of landscapes, their composition, function, maintenance and conservation.
- promote and coordinate a broad research effort in the sciences concerning natural resources at a global level in favouring the participation of african scientists to international research programmes, and in turns, provide predictive models
- provide training, summer courses and workshops in order to ensure a high level of formation of young scientists and PhD Students.
- help for the equipment of african laboratories
- ensure compilation of data on the basis of discussions with botanists, phyto- and pollen morphologists.
- distribute products on disquettes or CD-ROMs for scientific users.
